Background
Site Description
Site 002 is a traditional village next to (west of) the road of Alor. The site stretches along the hill ridge and has eleven levels of terraces. A stone entrance leads to the village, which has 19 traditional thatched houses (rumah adat) and a mesbah ritual altar. The central rumah adat holds a collection of bronze drums, gongs, and other heirloom artefacts.

Project Description
The Maritime Asia Heritage Survey (MAHS) works to systematically inventory and digitally document endangered cultural heritage in the Maldives, Indonesia, Thailand, and elsewhere across the region. The materials documented through this work are critically endangered, facing both natural and human threats that jeopardize the survival and accessibility of historical information connected to the interconnected Indian Ocean world. The aerial LiDAR data made available here were collected by the MAHS Field Team using DJI Zenmuse L1 LiDAR sensor mounted on DJI Matrice 300 RTK UAV platform. The data were processed by the Digital Heritage Documentation Lab using DJI Terra and exported as a LAS point cloud. This dataset supports site-scale digital documentation, preservation, and future research reuse.
