Site Description
Feature 001 consists of six ornately decorated slab-type wooden grave markers placed inside the mausoleum (Feature 002). Three markers are placed at the head (northern side), and the remaining three are placed near the foot (southern side) of the grave. On both sides, the wooden slabs, with a range of sizes, are placed close to one another. The largest slabs, at both ends, share similar forms, with elaborately decorated components such as: a large asymmetrical open-work floral motif on top; a hexagonal main section with a circular floral motif in the middle with 9 semi-circular petals, as well as other geometric motifs. In comparison, the other grave markers take on more distinctive forms. Both of the medium-sized wooden slabs have a pointed arch top and distinctive cursive decorative motifs. Meanwhile, the smallest headstone is a slab, while the smallest footstone is a mini-column. Neither has elaborate decorative elements nor carvings. Meanwhile, stone rubble is present around the grave markers.

Project Description
The Maritime Asia Heritage Survey works to systematically inventory and digitally document the endangered cultural heritage in the Maldives, Indonesia, Thailand and elswhere across the region. The materials documented through this work are critically endangered, facing both natural and human threats that jeopardize the survival and accessibility of historical information for this vital node in pre-modern global economic and religious networks at the cross-roads of an interconnected Indian Ocean world. The data made available here was collected by our Field Team using FARO Focus S350 terrestrial laser scanner, Nikon DSLR camera, and DJI drone platform.
